URBAN DESIGN
Boney Plaza
LDN provided complete planning and design services for the expansion of the Alaska State Courthouse in Anchorage. Our services included planning for two plazas and extensive employee parking, and streetscaping for six block faces in downtown Anchorage.
The plaza features areas for concerts and public gatherings and serves as the major pedestrian connection for the entire courthouse complex. Design features include intricate paving patterns, colorful windscreens that will protect pedestrians from harsh northern winds, and extensive seating. LDN coordinated with a number of municipal agencies to complete this project.
Port Avenue, Seward
This pedestrian walkway and related amenities serves to enhance a railroad gateway and major commercial focal point for visitors to Seward. LDN worked with the Alaska DOT & PF to develop design concepts for a pedestrian walkway and plaza, including historical signs and seating.
Town Square
LDN created a number of improvements to Town Square Park in central downtown Anchorage. Additional walks, and seat walls were designed by LDN and we also made revisions to plans for the park's fountain, paving, lighting and landscaping.
